Reds V Blues Charity Football Match.

29th March 2019

The Manchester Youth Zone organised their own version of the Manchester Derby at Broadhurst Park and recruited a player roster from the local business community, as well as football legends Chris Casper and Gary Tippers to manage the teams. The Reds V Blues Charity Football Match is an annual event in its third year running, helping to change the lives of children and young people in Manchester.

As our nominated local charity, e3creative (Part of Dept) partners with the Manchester Youth Zone to expand their reach through regular financial contributions, as well as allocating the agency’s time, expertise and resources. Our teams often merge with theirs to collaborate on events and projects and this was the case for the recent football match. e3creative was heavily involved behind the scenes producing preview videos and designing the event branding, as well as carrying it through to the website, email templates, sponsorship packages, invitations, flyers, event programmes and other event collateral. Being involved in the preparations leading up to the big day makes attending the event much more purposeful and our photographers and videographers were onsite capturing the excitement of the evening. It was a highly competitive match and the Blues took the trophy this year, recording a 2-1 overall victory, which means the Reds will need to work extra hard next year to get even the scores.

The 2019 Reds V Blues charity football match marks the Manchester Youth Zone’s biggest fundraising event to date, raising a grand total of £90,000 and 125% more than last year’s event, massively surpassing their targets. Support from businesses and organisations across the city was overwhelming for the charity and all of the funds raised will fuel projects and initiatives that equip young people in Manchester with the tools to increase their confidence, build positive relationships and add something back to their own community.
